I'm in LA, does anyone know of a place where I can try the ski erg out before I consider buying it?

C2 would probably know of a place you could try one.
Give them a call at 1-800-245- 5676.
If you try one, let me know how you like it.

John, Our club recently purchased one & I love it. I have the same feeling that I had when I first rowed on the model A,25+years ago, concept2 hit another home run with this product.

Nelson, thanks for your comments.
I'm interested in the benefits you like on the skierg and how it compares to the rowing machine.
And also how your times compare. Thanks

John,
Not sure yet about the times differential because I am still feeling my way around the machine, finding the proper form for me. I just did a 500m and my time was 10 seconds slower than my 500m row time. And it looks like other club members are recording a 10-12 seconds slower time. I also think that as the distance gets longer the difference in times are going to get greater. I did a 6000M and my time was about 20sesconds per 500m slower than my row pace, so this should be fun to compare over the next few months.
The movement really stressed my triceps, delts, just overall arms. The lungs take a beating because your stroke rate is so high, 38-55, man that burns in the end.
As I get better & more familiar, start recording more pieces then I should start to get a really good feel for the difference between the two.
Stay healthy my friend!
