Buying a second hand SkiErg

Post by jelekan » January 31st, 2023, 3:12 pm

Hi all, to complete my rowing excersise routine I have my eye on a second hand RowErg. The machine is from 2015, has done 9 million meters. First of all I believe I shouldn't buy everything new, secondly it is 35% cheaper then new.

Does 9 million mean it's at its end of its life or can I do another 9?

Thanks for your insights.

I think you can do another 90 😄

9 million meter are no problem at all, some have that after 2-3 years.

Will you be able to try it first?

I know next to nothing about SkiErgs, other than what I see here, and it seems like some of them have "clunking" issues on the drive.

Good Luck

9 million is not a lot. There are two generations of SkiErg. The first gen should work fine, but is less valuable.

I remember hearing that the first gen's handles have to be pulled together - you can't do them separately (left, then right, etc).

I personally don't think the age, mileage and exercise limitations due to above are worth only 35% off new.

Thanks for all the help. I ended up buying a 2020 version with a 100.000 meters on it. What a machine already "enjoying" it.

Congratulations - at times your body will hate you for it, but in the long run will be grateful.
