Apple Watch

Post by Marcvo17 » February 1st, 2021, 7:36 pm

For those with an Apple Watch...if you use your Apple Watch to record a workout on the SkiErg...what workout do you select on your watch? For Erg and BikeErg, there are obvious workouts to use (rowing and indoor cycle). But there only seems to be an outdoor cross country skiing (not indoor) workout on the watch.

I also use ErgData...but use the Apple Watch to record my heart rate. I then delete the workout (but select to keep the data) to avoid double counting workouts on the watch.

Thanks.

Hi
I use LiveRowing for programming the PM5 and uploading to Strava and LogBook after Workout.
I ordered an ANT+ Pod for transfering the live heartbeat from Apple Watch to the PM5. Hope it will arrive tomorrow.
So my plan is to have a full PM5 workout inclusiv the heartbeat.

I tried the LiveRowing app but couldn't get the apple Watch to connect to the PM5, so the heart rate didn't work. Maybe the watch requires the paid subscription to employ. Also, although the app on the iphone recorded and uploaded the workout to the C2 log, it recorded it as a row, not a ski. I guess that makes sense---it's called LiveRowing.

So, not very useful for the Apple Watch on the SkiErg.

Could you describe what you are doing here as I am a little confused by your description?

One of the downsides of the Apple watch is it doesn't follow the standards for bluetooth (hence why it can't broadcast HR like a garmin can), instead developers have (if I understood correctly) the apple watch broadcast the HR from the watch to the iPhone and then the iPhone broadcasts it to the device (i.e. Peloton bike, Zwift etc)

This obviously requires the developers of the app to activate this, Concept 2 haven't done this yet for the ErgData app - I "think" the LiveRowing app has activated this for paid users, but im not sure what pod is doing in this case?

Hello, is it allowed to post the provider's website here?

All you need is this little gadget.
With it you can send your pulse from the Apple Watch to the PM5 and do your workouts via the PM5.

for example, works similar with the PM5
