Hi--i'm looking at a used skierg that was just posted locally, with a PM 3. Cords were replaced in the past year. Price is about half of a new machine w/stand. I use a concept 2 rower at the gym and thought a skierg at home will be a good complement. Any major disadvantage to an older version beyond the PM3/PM5 difference?

The PM3 doesn't have any simple way to connect to a phone. For an Android phone you'd need an OTG adapter and a USB-A to USB-B cable. For an iPhone the adapter costs more than a replacement PM5 (for USD$160 or GBP£155) less the sale price you'd get for a PM3 on an auction site.

You need to be able to connect the PM to your phone to get the benefits of Ergdata.
