Seeking Info on the Concept2 SkiErg Device Holder

Post by jelekan » September 17th, 2023, 5:14 am

Hey fellow Concept2 enthusiasts!

I hope you're all having a great day. I recently came across an intriguing post on Instagram by Concept2Inc, and I'm curious if any of you have more information about it. Link to post: https://www.instagram.com/p/CxNxmsxswlN/

Concept2Inc shared an image featuring the SkiErg with what appears to be a device holder. I'm really interested in getting my hands on one of these device holders, but I couldn't find any details about it on their website or social media accounts.

If anyone has any information about this device holder, where to purchase it, or if it's even available yet, please share your insights here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate the info!

Let's keep the Concept2 community informed and connected. Thanks in advance for any help or leads you can provide!

Happy rowing and skiing! 🚣‍♂️❄️

Best regards,

Jurrian

Hi Jurrian,

I would send C2 an e-mail ( info@concept2.com ) and ask them directly.

They're generally very quick to respond.

Good Luck

Not seen the one in the picture, but all machines these days come with a phone holder that will take phones up to about 6inch size (not Max/Plus sizes) and would handle the phone shown in the picture. You may well already have one, but if not, then readily available for $1 here https://shop.concept2.com/parts/353-sma ... d-pm5.html

For those interested. This is the response I got from Concept 2:

"Thank you for emailing. What you saw in the photo was a prototype of a Device Holder for the SkiErg. They are not available for sale yet, but if you check back with us in a few weeks time, hopefully they will be. Sorry, I don't have any pricing available yet. "

Apologies for the double post earlier. I got it in the mail, I tried to post a pic but got an error; anyhow here are the highlights.
- It uses the 2 higher bolts above the PM5 to mount
- It has two craddles to allow for slightly different viewing angles
- Fast size adjustment using the knob on the right
- Plenty of room to have the phone mount still on your PM5.

Its well constructed and I’m certainly happy with it.

How do you like it above the PM5 on the SkiErg? I have seen third party designs that go below the pm5, and am wondering which is better given the head position of skierging. Thanks

Absolutely love it. I can still see the PM 5 and given how you move on the SkiErg, no issues with being able to watch something or even use Zwift (using the pain sled app). I highly recommend it. If the holder were below the pm5, I imagine it would be hard to see and definitely mess with your form
