Post by Mitch R. » December 31st, 2017, 7:45 pm

i am a complete novice on Training Peaks software, but am thinking of using it for the ski erg.

Has anyone done this? Any suggestions? Thank you.

Please disregard this post. I see that Training Peaks does not offer ski erg plans.

I use Training Peaks WKO4 to log my Skierg workouts, along with my cycling workouts. What are your objectives regarding use of the software?

Interested to know more... I have seen Training Peaks being used in terms of cycling but not much else... why do you log your workouts in there as opposed to just using the Concept2 online Log? Simplicity of keeping all your workouts/activity on one platform or more to it?

I post my Skierg workouts to both the Concept2 log and Training Peaks WKO4. The reason I use WKO4 is to get a Training Stress Score (TSS) for t Skierg workouts. can then be combined to my cycling workout TSS's

Sorry. Hit the Post button by mistake. To continue. My objective is to get a Training Stress Score for my Skierg workouts that can then be combined in WKO4 with my cycling workout TSS scores. Together the scores let me track my OVERALL training load. How do I accomplish this? With two pieces of equipment. The first is a Power Tap Power Calc heart rate monitor. This heart rate monitor is unique in that it contains an algorithm that produces a power wattage figure based on your heart rate. It is not as accurate as a real cycling power meter, but it is close. + or - 5% versus 1-2%. This power figure is transmitted to a Garmin 520 cycling computer, which is set to Indoor Trainer mode. The Skierg workouts are saved on the Garmin device and then downloaded to WKO4 just like a cycling workout. I classify the Skierg workouts in WKO4 as X-ski workouts to separate them from the cycling workouts. From there you can use WKO4's functionality to analyze, manage and plan your training for both cycling and Skierg. Hope this helps.
