Rattling Noise?

Post by dcpattie » October 25th, 2015, 6:34 am

I'm noticing excessive rattling noises coming from the main column - any guesses? I have the new 2014 model.

Sorry to hear that your new SkiErg has developed a rattle. Without hearing the sound, it is hard to guess where it is coming from. If you shoot us an email or give us a call, we should be able to pin down the root cause and take care of the problem.

We will probably start the conversation by asking questions like:
-What is the serial number of your skierg?
-When does the rattle occur? During the drive? The recovery?
-Does the rattle sound louder when only using one hand or the other?
-Have you checked the tightness of all of the assembly screws, both in the floor stand and the SkiErg?

Thanks Trevor for the review. Last night I inspected the screws and cords and everything looks ok. I'll gather the information you noted and contact you later this week. I'll also try to capture a video w/ audio so you can better diagnose the noise.

BTW, I absolutely love the Skierg! I'm on it about 3-4 times per week (just did a 15k workout this morning). I also have a rowing erg on slides that's developed a slight hiccup so I might want to also troubleshoot that one as well.

Update, I think the noise is actually coming from the top pulleys. You want them to be loose enough to pivot but not so loose that they jump up and down.
