Run/Row Marathon

Curious to see how many folks on here have attempted a marathon distance (26.2 miles) through any combination of running + rowing.
The three times I've tried, the running portion was always first, which usually ends up in some mighty uncomfortable meters in the row session, usually calf cramps but also hip tightness. Thinking about switching it up to row first next time - distance portioning is still to be determined.
1st attempt: Apr 9th 2022 | Run: 20 miles 02:37:03 | Row: 10k 00:41:19
2nd attempt: Nov 5th, 2022 | Run: 20 miles, 02:59:57 | Row: 10k 00:42:35
3rd attempt: Jan 2nd, 2023 | Run: 13.1 miles 01:41:43 | Row: 21,097m 01:30:49
4th attempt: ????

What's the harm in rowing 42195 metres in a single session? Forget the running, it does bad things to your knees.

It's a myth, many studies have shown that it has no negative impact, or even a positive one, by putting a stress on your body you force him to get stronger.

I would 100% do the row first, similar to the way triathletes do brick sessions with the bike before the run.
I used to do more row/run brick sessions than I have been lately, although I did one yesterday that reminded me how much I enjoy it. Generally speaking, I will row 2/3 of the distance and run 1/3 of the distance, give or take. For example, yesterday I did a 12k row followed by a 6.5k run.
If you are going to follow a similar, I would likely do one of these (more likely the latter): 27,195 row, 15,000 run; 30,000 row, 12,195 run.

A row-run-row marathon (14065 m each leg) would be nice.

Only rowed the full marathon on the Erg once after failing it on the first attempt with a handle down at 32km. You have to drink fluid all the way through or you see stars with 10K to go.
Its pretty hard but then again I would never be able to run a marathon, it would be more of a walk.
Time was just under 3 hours.
