Running vs. weight lifting

Could anyone inform me or point me to any studies that show at what point running starts to be detrimental for muscle growth? I know too much running breaks down muscle, but I don't know where that threshold is between a good amount and too much. Now that I graduated from college and rowing is not my primary concern I'm trying to build muscle and strength while staying in shape but I want to make sure all the lifting I'm doing is not getting undone by my running.
