I have been on the erg for 6 years. Since 2005, my cardio program has been rowing, brisk walking, cycling, some running on trails. I hope to add swimming next month. (2002 thru July 2005 was almost all focused on the erg.) In the past quarter, my workouts (including rest days which come once in nine days or so) are averaging 72 min/day. I rarely do the same exercise two days in a row. (Now that our weather is changing, I will probably be on the erg more than otherwise. Plus swimming.) My gaps are lack of specific training on upper body strength and, despite the cardio, I am carrying too much weight. The good side is my cardio fitness is good. My legs are strong.
The reason for my entry on the forum is to get feedback from people who also cross-train what their thought process is for choosing their weekly workout program. I am not very analytical which seems not quite right.
Thx

Finding the balance
Hi there...
Wonder if you are still there as no one has bothered to reply before??
I would be interested in posting in this thread if you are still interested. I am doing about 9 hours a week at the moment with a mixture of core strength work 2-3 times, swimming 8k 2 sessions, bike/X trainer 1-2 and then of course Concept2 4-5. getting the balance right is tricky especially if you want to see improvement in your times.
Anyway hope this helps?

I suspect it's because this forum isn't as active as the one at http://concept2.co.uk/forumiERG wrote:Wonder if you are still there as no one has bothered to reply before?
