wear of the green sleeve

The green sleeves on my sculling oars showed excessive wear after a few years. This is fine, I have rowed more than five thousand kilometers with them.
I have recently bought replacement sleeves, I have received my order, installed them with no problem.
To my surprise, after just one practice, a 15 km row at low-medium pressure I already saw signs of wear on the new collars, exactly at the place where the old pair had major wear.
Look at the picture, this is minor wear , but it is after one single practice.

I wonder if others have noticed this?
How frequently do you replace your sleeves?
Any comment or suggestion would be welcome.
Thanks
