replace blades

Hi All,

I have a pair of Dreissigacker Oars with Macon blades. I am thinking it is time to upgrade but oars are wickedly expensive, specially on the west coast with brutal shipping charges. I am willing to buy blades and glue them onto my shafts but I do not know if Dreissigacker shafts have the same taper at the blade end as C2 shafts. does anybody know for sure if they do or dont?

thanks a Million,

Ed

I don't know the answer, but it seems to me that they permanently glue the blades to the shaft. Trying to remove them and installing new blades may ruin the shaft.

Here is the C2 page on their oars. I recommend calling them and asking. (once the CV lockdown is over).

the west coast
Boat and blade manufacturers usually go to rowing events, bringing lots of gear with them. Maybe you can collect locally if there is such an event close to you. Or even get a used pair from a competitor.

Concept2 is Dreissigacker- and the blades can be replaced. Check this out:

Good luck! JonW

Good videos.

I think for the OP the removal video would be more critical. Don't want to damage the shaft!

Thanks to all of your for your responses. When all this ruckus dies down I will go to the next regatta the vendors will attend.
