Question about handles

Post by ThatMoos3Guy » May 23rd, 2010, 12:19 pm

So, a friend of mine just got an older pair of C2 sculling oars, I think they're from 2008. However he has a problem, he doesn't know how to connect the handle to the shaft of the blade. When he got them they were boxed up and the handle and shaft were not connected. He asked me, but I don't know anything at all about rigging or oars, so I figured you guys might know better. Looked around on the website but didn't see anything.

Assuming they're adjustable handles (2008 sculling oars should be), there are a pair of screws on the shaft of the blade, maybe 8 inches from the open end of the shaft. You slide the handle in, with the slit/groove of the handle facing up towards the screws. The screws are attached to a curved piece of plastic that when loose, allows the handle groove to slip around the screws and between the plastic piece and the interior of the shaft. Adjust the length to as far in or out as you like, then tighten the screws. That's if he has the 10CM adjustable system...

Look on page 16 to see the groove I'm referring to.
