I have just started rowing regularly due to the fact that I was bored with my old forms of cardio after lifting. I had been messing around on the machine before but I have been doing it regularly for a week now. After reading these forums for technique advice, I implemented some of that advice.

My first couple of 5000m workouts were about 22m 30s. I then decided to try and slow my stroke down as I was at a 28-32 spm rate. I rowed last night at about a 24-25 spm rate and finished 21m 05s. So just slowing down I cut over a minute and a half off my time.

I look forward to reading more and discussing more rowing with you guys.

That's a great start, well done. have you read up on drag as well, as rowing at low drag and particularly strapless requires good technique to keep the pace up and so gives good feedback on technique failings.
