I thought I'd try a 1000 meter test race in a more than ventilated area. What a mistake! The air conditioning system blew a lot of air around, which at first felt comfortable. But just over half way threw the piece cold dry air dried up my airway causing me to stop. It was like sucking sand through a straw.
Let's just say it was the worst rowing machine experience I've had.

You are write that the rowing machine has some fault and it did not have worked well. If it has worked perfectly then you have done your test with the best result.
