Read the data into a spreadsheet (*.CSV) file and the calories stuff is shown in there.
If you don't weigh 80Kg and have a 25% body efficiency and don't use 300 (k)Cal just sitting doing nothing then your calorie numbers won't be meaningful anyway.

I think you can go with around 75 cal per 1000m for starters.

Hi,
thanks for the answer. I am using the online logbook in german. So, if I click on "Export CSV File", what I think that you mean, excel opens but I still cant see the burned calories... The only thing that I see for my practice sessions is this
10000,"41:15.7","2:03.7","2015-04-19","43","H","standard","",
Any other idea? Or am I doing the wrong thing?
Thanks

A row consists of more than one line in your CSV file
Code: Select all
,,,,,Total Workout Results,,,,Split or Work Interval Results,,,,Results Calculated by Formulas,,,Interval Rest Results
,Name,Date,Time of Day,Workout Name,Time,Meters,Avg SPM,Avg Heart Rate,Time,Meters,SPM,Heart Rate,/500m,Cal/hr,Watt,Time,Meters,Heart Rate
,Dougie,18/04/2015,15:12,1479m,06:24.5,1479,21,0,,,,,02:09.9,848,159
,Dougie,18/04/2015,15:12,1479m,,,,,01:18.2,300,19,0,02:10.3,844,158
,Dougie,18/04/2015,15:12,1479m,,,,,01:18.0,600,22,0,02:10.0,848,159
,Dougie,18/04/2015,15:12,1479m,,,,,01:18.2,900,22,0,02:10.3,844,158
,Dougie,18/04/2015,15:12,1479m,,,,,01:17.9,1200,22,0,02:09.8,850,160
,Dougie,18/04/2015,15:12,1479m,,,,,01:12.2,1479,23,0,02:09.3,856,162
That one was an average of 159 (k)Cal/hr and 158,159,158,160 & 162 for each of the splits. Last split was only 279m (not 300m).

5000,"19:59.9","1:59.9","2015-04-12","43","H","standard","",
5000,"19:51.8","1:59.1","2015-04-13","43","H","standard","",
500,"1:28.6","1:28.6","2015-04-14","43","H","standard","",
10000,"41:15.7","2:03.7","2015-04-19","43","H","standard","",

You've truncated it on the right hand side some how.

You will never have the true answer, so pointless to search. Roughly you can use 1024 cal per hour if you erg with 2.00 per 500. Only if you erg and get every breath measured for oxigion use you would have an answer.
But roughly, if you want to gave an rough idea, 16/17 kcal per min. For 2.00 pace.

What monitor is it?
How did you read the data?
Or did those data come from some 3rd party application like ErgData?

Note that in the US, CSV files use the comma (,) as delimiter, whereas most European countries use the semi colon (;). So if your PM uses US format and your Excel uses the European format, things probably won't look as expected.

i would recomend you to use a heart rate monitor, with an appropriate app - i am using the polar M400 watch, its connected via blue tooth to my heart rate gizmo and transmits my heart rate in real time to my watch.
my watch knows my weight, hight, age, gender, and translates that to the amount of calories that i am using while rowing.
then i add the number ( either total or per session ) to my excel file ( i have my own excel file very similar to the one provided by C2 ).
i track my intake calories Vs. my BMI and calories used up while rowing for better picture of my status.
i have found that reading and learning about heart rate zones helps me work out and use maximum energy provided by fat rather then muscle glycogen. i have lost 13Kg since i started rowing, 7 KG just in the last 3 months after hitting a plato.

No, but the monitor shows it if you press the right button as you've seen.
Otherwise, heat produced in kCal = Watts x Minutes /17, so the sums are soon done.
Using 15 would consider the mass shuttle effect too, since the power loss is 20-40W, as to mass and rating.

It sounds like you ate exporting the season row csv from the history and not exporting the row as a csv (rowpro)...

Rough guess should be roughly 33 cal per 500 meters. Calories burned is based on distance, not time. It will greatly vary based on all kinds of different factors but if you're looking for just a rough guess, that would be it.
