Hopefully I can get some guidance on this question -
My doctor wants me to do a full hour of continuous cardio daily. I've done a half dozen or more of these in front of the TV. I think that it would be much more fun with a Xeno DVD, but need guidance as to which one(s) are most suitable for long rows.
Can you advise me?
Thanks!
Xeno DVDs - which one(s) for long rows?
go to his website, http://www.gorow.com and look up the description of the dvds. Some include sessions with him rowing on the water and are very easy to follow. The cadence is reasonable and there's no voice over and you can wear your ear buds and listen to your music while visualizing rowing on the water.
You can also email Xeno and ask his advice. He has a new dvd out with technique and 15' workouts that could fit nicely for you.
May I suggest that you consider breaking up your sessions into 2x30' or 3x20' or 4x15' with 2-3 minutes rest between sets. Then vary your workout for each set. For example, do a long warmup with gradual increasing intensity for the first 10 min. til your HR is around 80-85% max then slowing backing off to a paddle over the next 5 then build again. Rest 2-3 min. Do Xeno's 19' Pryamid. Rest 2-3 min. then repeat the warmup as a cool down session.
