I'm looking to purchase a used Model D off Ebay and I noticed that the one being sold is one of the older Model Ds. Is there a significant difference between the older and newer model D other than cosmetics?

Newer ones may have a PM4 rather than PM3.
The framelock is easier to operate on the newer machine. And the foot stretchers were redesigned.
Other than that most changes were simply the pimped paintwork.
