Finished first Crash Bs. Recorded a short video.

Post by cutle1 » February 25th, 2008, 2:11 pm

A big thanks to all those who answered my novice questions! I hit my target of 7:21 for the Crash Bs. In retrospect I wish I had raced Open Lightweight. Obviously, I would have still been way back, but the Master's Lightweight divisions was pretty small. I edited this short 2 minute video.

My form went down the toilet. It was my first ever race. I was not prepared for the adrenaline. My brain played tricks on me ... "hmmm, maybe I can row 1:45 for the next 7 minutes". Anyway. It was fun and I'll be back next year.

Thanks Stefan!

She was very supportive. I think she's going to row next year.

My forearms are still insanely sore from the terrible technique I used for the race. What was I thinking?

Cheers

I enjoyed the video. Loved the "little guys/no they were smaller" line.

I'll be putting up a few of my own as soon as I find the time, but the production probably won't be as neat.

And yes, sore forearms aren't a good sign. :D Sore anything else is perfectly acceptable, however.

Cool Video

My first Crash-B's was also 30-39 lightweight. 14th of 17 (2002) with 7:13. You are my legacy. Carry on. Next year you will do better (as I did)

Congratulations on your race, John. Well done.

You should definitely get your girlfriend on the erg... then you two can talk about training all of the time (like I do with my wife).

And the video is pretty cool too.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I think Sharon is shooting for the coxswain event. Do they have a Master Women's event for 120 or less?

Cheers

And congratulations to you Greg, fourth was good and you seemed pretty safe from fifth.
