Hmm 10 weeks huh... well 10 weeks will be near the end of my sprint season for college, but I'm game. My erg workouts might not be as consistent (in number of workouts per week) as many of you, but I will write my on the water and erg training to make up for it.
Last 5k (a while ago) was at about 19:10 (1:55/500m)
My target will be 18:20 (1:50/500m)
Best of luck all.

That is great, welcome!
Good and tough target compared to your other SB sessions, but you are yong and on in rapid progress, so it can be done.

I will set 1:57 that is 19:30, although never having done a 5k TT this is new territory for me. I hope to be close to AndyB on this one. Can't live with him on the longer stuff, but managed a faster 2k, so may revise when I see his target!
Regards
Iain

This morning's water workout...
3 x 5' in small boats (pairs) 100% pressure
*The pairs aren't rigged with impellers (sp?) so we didn't get a split or distance...either way it was over 1000m for sure all three times.
I actually only rowed twice (we have 5 guys...so we switched out the starboards in bow of each pair...more of an informal seat race for our "A" pair. The first race the "B" pair with me in bow lost by one pair length probably. When we switched, and I went into the "A" pair, my boat won by about 9 lengths. The difference is so great because when the "A" pair is split up I have to pull less through the water just so that the boat will go straight...but once the "A" pair is rowing, myself and stroke can pull full hard strokes and will remain going straight.
Erg assignment from coach today:
2 x 6k
1st 6k all out test
10' rest
2nd 6k within :36-:48 of first piece (:03-:04 per 500m)
I am hoping to PR on the first one (break 23:00) and then hold a 1:58-1:59 pace for the second 6k.

I don't know when week 17 is, and I don't think I will get to a HM this week, but my major goal this season is to hit 18:20 for the 5k, so week 17 is as good as any other.
As long as we get to race this online.

Week 17 is the last week of the current season.

I certainly plan to do a lot of workouts online. I had major stability problems, but yesterday I upgraded my wireless network with a couple of extra antenna's and they seem to do the trick. Maybe we can do some weekly or two-weekly 5K handicap races?

After yesterdays HM, today was 1 k in memory of Carole Mac on CTC.
I did 3.20,7 at 35 spm
The HM yesterday was less perfect for sharpening but I did give it everything. Lost 0,8 s on the last 200 m...
It is great that so many goes along on the 5 k challenge.
I am very keen on regular RowPro handicap races.

Join us and set a good target for 5 k.
My target is 18.35.
I'm in, but haven't picked an exact target pace. I'm planning on sub-19, but haven't determined how far below 19:00 to go. Besides, I still haven't done the HM challenge (I'm shooting for the 24th).
Stefan, as the original poster, would you mind amending your original post to include the names and targets of each of the challenge participants? It will be a convenient reference, especially as the number of pages of posts increases. Thanks!
Cheers!
David

I'll do the HM tonight and start the 5K challenge as soon as possible.
I have revised my target to 19:30 instead of 19:20, though I still HOPE to get close to or under 19:20.

I think you need a wrinkly to make the numbers up
I'll aim to break 19 minutes

Put me down for a 18:40 (1:52 pace).
This is 13 seconds faster then I did in May.
Should be tough, but with some more consistent training very do able.
