ideas for a second session?

Post by hench22 » December 26th, 2014, 7:03 pm

Hey,

So on Mondays we do a 30r24, then optional training on our own later in the day.
In the previous months, me and this other guy have been doing a 5k run then 4x8min bikes,
And we have both found that this has left us very tired the next day, and we think we are overtraining.
Our coach has been quite unhelpful, and we dont know what to do. We have about an hour available to train.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help.

This is a weird post. Absolutely no background info. Age, weight, etc. How long you have been working out. How many days a week you workout. All we know is that you row 30 mins, run 3.1 miles, and bike for 32 mins in one day. No pace information is given for any of those efforts. I would say depending on intensity that workout for one day would tire most anyone. I also find it very odd that any coach came up with that mix of exercise in one day. Why so much aerobics? It is kind of hard to suggest workouts when no info is given about days/week and hrs/day is available. If you really want help, you need to provide much more info.

we think we are overtraining
If you have no racing to do, don't train for it, and even then do nothing hard for more than 30 minutes a week.

After a week's rest, do nothing at higher than 70% HRR, and keep records of the amount of work you do, measured in absolute terms such as kWh.

Just think you're chasing your dinner and with any luck might have to sprint for the kill some time this evening. If no luck, try again tomorrow, at least you'll still be alive and not prey yourself. But no prey, no sprint.

After a 30 minute row I always feel like a couple of sprints.
Try 5 x 200m with 1 minute break in between. Follow this with a couple of ks on the bike to cool down. Running on a treadmill is like watching soccer......life's too short.
