As I start to prepare for the Spring Season, I was wondering what types of workouts would be best for 2k's? would it be long SS or short interval work? Any help would be appericated.

Both. I've already built my endurance with steady state but I throw them in for maintenance now and then, mostly on the water though.

30-45 minute pieces at 75% pressure is good for SS

Sprinting will decrease your 2k.

3 x 1k

4 x 2k

8 x 500m

1 min on 1 min off

etc

Look at the Pete Plan and the Wolverine Plan for ideas.

Well there is another thread on this, but what the hey. I'd say it depends on your physiology. If you lean heavily towards either endurance or power, it pays to work on your weaknesses. You can usually tell during a 2k what your limiting factor is; if you tend to negative split severely, you need more endurance, but if you tend to fade towards the end you might need strength/anaerobic work.
