I recently had my yearly physical exam, and was told that my height was 3/4's of an inch taller than a year ago.... and taller than I have ever been measured.

I have been erging a bit less than a year, and I have logged just over two million meters. I am 52 years old. my "core" is stronger/firmer than a year ago.

When I did an internet search, I found statements that Pilates and Yoga can make you taller, due to causing improved posture...I am thinking that rowing might do the same.

Has anyone experienced an increase in height from rowing? I welcome the increase in height, since I have been told that most people shrink when they get older, and I am already vertically challenged.

Sounds plausible. I vary as much as 3/4inch in height from being measured in the morning to the evening. Probably a combination of disc compression and postural changes, though the posture can be controlled fairly well, I think. If you had even a small amount of straightening of the spine with added core strength it could account for height change as well.

That dang gravity changes my height from morning to evening lol...

Me being younger, I can't say for sure since I am still growing... but I look taller :/

That would be great, I'm on the short side. I'll measure myself tonight, lol. I started April 2nd and am around 1.2 million meters.

I don't know if you want to get much taller than 1.2 million meters

Tuesday, July 24, 2007 - trying to delete this extra post . . . hmmmm . . . where is the DELETE button ?

I'm trying to follow Bob S's advice, but failing to find the X spot.

Do an edit and just delete all the words of the extra message(s). Then they will just be blank. Some members just replace the words of the extra message with a short apology, like, "Sorry, duplicate message." I also remember seeing a delete button, lined up with the quote and edit buttons, but I believe that it is an option that is available for only a short time.

I just checked out this message and the third button shows up with an "X." I remember using that in times past and it is, indeed, a delete option.

Edit: I just tried it on this message and was asked if I really wanted to delete the message. I clicked on "No" and went back to edit it.

dear Bob S - thanks for the efforts, but I have not yet accomplished the deletion - can you please give more specific instructions as to whereabouts of DELETE command

Yes, there seems to be some sort of a time limit on it — or perhaps it is removed after the message has been viewed by someone else.

It is a nice convenience — it you use it early enough. I wish that I had it available on a couple of other (non-erg related) forums. They don't even have the edit option.
