Sore Legs

About a week ago our team finished its Crew season. We had a great year, placing at all of our regattas and qualifying for Nationals (did not attend). I never felt really soar during the season.

Once tour season ended and I took a week off from rowing to recover, my legs started to get sore, not the soreness that comes after 6mins of jump squats, but they were still sore.

Now for my question:

Did our coach have us reach our peak at just the right moment, does this usually happen at the end of a season, basically what caused this?

-I have been working out for about an hour a day to maintain
-I got less sleep, but not that much (maybe an hour)
-No stress

I can't seem to Figure it out, and with Summer Rowing starting, I hope to be at full Strength

I tend to feel a bit sore and some aches and pains when I back off of training.

It is very helpful to keep moving and in shape.
