I'm now in a moment I know very well since it has happened before. It is the period when I begin to row less, because of the cross training. Because I run , bike and go to the gym the erg is diminished. I have been rowing for the past 6 months an average of 125K/month, but this last month i have row only about 50K. My condition is as good as two months ago but erging less. I don't want to loose my erging condition but the motivation to row isn't the same as two months ago. Any suggestion to don't let it go...

Hey,
Maybe set a goal to train for...maybe an upcoming race a few months away or set up a challenge with another rower for a specific time.
For example, currently, a buddy and I have a little challenge that will finish on July 7th. We're trying to see who has the best 5k time by that time. It has been very positive and motivating, and whenever we beat a previous time or have a great workout we call each other, and we live 200 miles away!
So I say set a challenging goals that is a few months away and make a plan to work towards it. It is hard to motivate yourself sometimes if you don't have a challenge.
Best regards,
Bryan

Get RowPro! Nothing motivates you like knowing people are waiting for you to show up for a training session.
Seriously, I dont know how so many folks can stay motivated to grind out the meters by themselves day after day.. Without training partners, I wouldnt get half the meters in that I do..

Atorrante,
Not sure how many days a week you have available to train on the erg but I have been following the 2007 PetePlan Lite for the last three months. I have always primarily been a runner so this plan works perfectly for me. During these 12 weeks, I improved my 5K time by 18 seconds. Each of the three sessions is pretty intense since there are only three sessions. I find that I can recover pretty quickly from a hard erg session and it did not take away from my running. I did find however that after a hard run day, I had to back my pace on the rowing down the following day.
