Sorry if this is in the wrong bit but its the most updated bit so i thought i would get more responses...
When im doing 10k i get a SORE BUTT. Simply, what clothing is good to remedy this, padded cycling shorts all seem to be well padded on the crotch but not on the actual bum bit that you sit on, any advice or places to purcahse, im in the UK btw.
Clothing
Re: Clothing
The rowing shorts sold by C2 have build in pads that are in the right places. I wore a pair when I did my marathon yesterday, but I also had a folded up small towel on each side, with a gap between to allow air flow to avoid heat build up. (The towels were a recommendation from Xeno last year.) Nevertheless, it was a 3 hour 20 minute session, and I can still feel it in my sitz-bones as I am sitting here at the computer.Seth wrote:Sorry if this is in the wrong bit but its the most updated bit so i thought i would get more responses...

For long rows you can use some folded bubblewrap! But I think with enough training you have no need for any padding, but that's just my expeience!
And Bob! some advice:
Don't sit down, just row!!
( congrats on your great FM )
I thought about one! but didn't dare, this month!

Tyn,
I am very lazy fellow. Most of the sports that I have been involved in are those in which I can sit: rowing, bicycling, contract bridge, motorcycling, even rockclimbing, since I usually did a sitting belay and a climber spends about half the time belaying the other climber. Another one was sailing and, since I used a tiller rather than a wheel, I was able to sit a good part of the time.
Of course, in contradiction to this, I am a firm believer that the human body was not made to sit; that it is quite unnatural. Some primitive peoples hunker rather than sit. I think that this is more natural, but by now my knees could never handle hunkering. Civilization has destroyed them.
