I'm looking for a good training program that will specifically focus on increasing my vo2 max. It can be repeated weekly or monthly, everyday or a couple days a week. I have an good athletic level of training already, not elite, but looking for a program that will be hard enough. If anyone has one they would like to share, please post. Thanks!

I read this in rowing faster as a good workout program for increasing vo2 max and race speed. It involved erging 6 days a week, with 4 days being steady state days, with fartlek style intervals of 45 seconds performed periodically thorughout the piece at race pace, most of the piece at steady state though, and twice a week doing 10 time 1 minute on, 1 minute off, with a rate of 36. I wouldn't reccomend this as a program, more like a 3-4 week training cycle in your program.

I take it you would really like to improve your performance based on some form of normalized test distance or time. Which may or may not improve with an increase in VO2Max, that is if your VO2Max can be increased at all.
Perhaps Read this First.
Happy to help with improving performance, as it is in fact what I've done for a number of folks.

That's a good point that the vo2 max is not that responsive to training, and that other variables such as aerobic threshold, and anaerobic threshold differ more with training. I assumed when he said specifically vo2 max training that he was probably looking for a relatively immediate increase in race speed. I would certainly not reccomend staying on that sort of training cycle that i proposed long term.
