90 minute and 2k connection!!!

Post by azink » December 17th, 2006, 1:21 am

hi! i was wondering if you could predict a 2k score from a 2:12.2 average 90 minute piece at a 21??? also, how many seconds should a 2k be if you are lightweight and going at a 26spm in stead of no rate cap? thanks!

The short answer is you can't. The long answer is you could but it would require so many assumptions that the answer would not be very meaningful.
There are people in my age/weight group in the rankings who can beat me significantly on the short pieces and who I beat at 60 min or more. It would be much easier to predict your time from a 1K or 5K. Your better off doing one or more 2K test to find out.

Limiting my rating to a 26 would slow me down 4-6 seconds for the whole piece. Each person is different though.
