Unbelievably Annoying

I was 19081m into my marathon today, and I had to take a couple minutes to respond to my four year old. The C2 monitor decided to pack up the workout just as I picked up the handle to resume.

I need to be able to tell it to take a longer time before going south on me like this. This is one thing I absolutely hated about the Waterrower. Seriously hated.

So how does one program the monitor to be more patient?

Or is it easier to program the four year old to be more patient?

As far as I know, you can't do either :) But if you press the change units or change display button on the monitor every 2 minutes or so, it will stay "alive" and not give up on you. I believe that if you use RowPro the monitor will also stay "alive" and not power down after a few minutes of inactivity.

It's probably easier to re-program your four year old. (I have a Louisville Slugger you could borrow for that purpose. )

If you have your PM3 connected to a PC (USB cable), it won't go to sleep.

Otherwise you have to row a single stroke every so often to keep the PM3 alive (same holds true for PM2). [Note: I don't know what happens with a PM2+ if it's connected to a PC with the serial interface, because I've never done that.]

Same is true for Waterrower.

Trouble is I had to get off the erg so I wasn't near enough to pull any strokes.

In that distance, I could have made up a few minutes, and even if I didn't, it would have been my best marathon time so far. It was way off my half-marathon pace, but I have a lot of trouble after about 90 minutes, and I was going strong.

It is not true that you need to pull a stroke.

Just press the big button on the side within 4 minutes each time and the monitor will stay on.
