I am curious if the length of slide movement, is directly related to the length of one's stroke. Other factors could be the height, reach, and weight of the rower.

Slide movement is measured by the travel of the slides to each end, minus 17 inches, the width of the slides in the middle.

I've not checked this yet but am guessing the slides move around 25 inches when I'm rowing. My stroke length is approximately 45 to 48 inches, and I'm 5' 8 5/8" tall and 143 pounds.

If this is correct then the slides move anywhere from 50 to 56% of the distance of the length of my stroke.

If any of you have checked this, what distances and percentages did you get?
