Power work-out first, then erging or opposite?

I don't have time to split my training in two and do one in the morning and the other afternoon. Usually I row first and then go to do some power work-out at gym. Anyway fitness instructor at new gym I've just joined told me it should be opposite? Who's right?

It depends on what your goals are. If your main goal is to improve your rowing, then I would continue what you are now doing. If your goal is weight loss and general fitness, then I would switch and do the weight training first. There is a scientific reason for this, but I don't recall exactly what it is. Something about weight training being an anaerobic exercise, so it burns the muscle glycogen first which leaves fat as the primary energy source when you get to your aerobic workout (rowing).

Thanks a lot. That's what I wanted to hear. So far my training plan works. I'm getting better and better.
Happy erging.
