HIIT Timer for weight lose

Post by wataguy » July 22nd, 2024, 4:13 am

Hello

Got a newbie question.

I saw on YT and need to do 90 sec (HIIT) + 60 seconds (cool down) at 10 sets.
Is this possible to set on our PM5 ?

Appreciate your valuable advice on this.

Kind regards to all,

I have PM3, but just put in timed intervals under "new workout" on select workout menu. Put in 1:30 in the time and 1:00 in the rest using the arrows then select. Save as favourite and go. THis will keep going 30 intervals, but if you stop when it shows the interval number on 10 during a rest, you have done this!

Not sure how well you know your pace targets and such but 90 seconds on with 60 seconds rest will be brutal if done at the right intensity but you can't expect to go all out on first interval and then match that pace after 60 seconds rest. In other words try to keep a pace that challenges you but that you can do multiple times - you don't want to have your pace dropping by 20 seconds form the first to last interval.

90 sec (HIIT) + 60 seconds (cool down) at 10 sets.
That's not HIIT, 90s is too long to go flat out, and there's one block only.

More typical is as the WOD dated July 21, 2024:
1 block = 8*20s with 10s rest: do 3 blocks with 4' rest between blocks.

WOD has the advantage we don't need to input to PM by hand.
