Hi rowers
I registered for the C2 "Holiday Challenge" and I noticed that someone already hit the 100 000 target yesterday on day 1(see Honorboard).
How is this possible? 100 000 in a day?

It does seem impossible, but there are people who seem to do nothing but row. No idea why you would do it as just a normal rowing day, unless it was a well planned 100k attempt.

I did 28km today and yesterday which actually puts me within 5km of my first MM. I think i mark this milestone on Sunday with a 5k TT.
If my observations are correct there seems to be plenty of folks above 40 who row a lot, probably even retired so thay can spend plenty of time on the erg.

It's incredible! There are 4 now on the 100 000 Honorboard.
Yes...I suppose you could sit and watch TV and that would help the hours..and hours...to go by.
My butt hurts just thinking of it...
I'm taking the slow and steady approach...will try to at least log the minimum 3000Ks a day. So far I'm on just under 10 000.
Happy rowing everyone!

Yeah, on another challenge I was in a team where someone rowed a marathon in the first day. It is very impressive, it sets the tone in the group, but I'm not inclined to follow their example to be honest....

This is only counted half meters then.
And 100k are 100k. You have to spend the time at least.

My guess is multiple users under one name. Not to deceive, definitely, but maybe in a clubhouse or similar.

I'm only slightly ahead of the daily curve - need to put some meters in to get a bit further ahead I think!
The 2nd place person has their log open, looks to be about 4 hours a day total in little sessions (bike) - looks to be consistent pace so my guess is it's all a single person there! Definitely not something on my radar to do that milage!

Maybe, but there are rowers who put in what would generally be considered ridiculous amounts of meterage, but they do this day in day out. 100k in a day is 'easily' achievable if you train for it.
Erging such distances daily presents greater challenges but there people who row 1000k in a continuous row, Ive only ever done 116k (11.5hrs) but will likley tackle a 12 and 24 hour ergat some sage in the future. May try longer durations too.
Im not sure that the people who do such distances would be interested in letting others log metres under their names, and here are a number of people who have logged c.2M metres now.

There's also a possibility of honest error. My husband noticed that his challenge meters looked too high after a session, and we figured out that the interval session somehow imported from ErgData with a bonus 60-80k rest meters. (I forget the exact number.) I've had some even crazier imports before. He manually deleted that and added the actuals from the PM5 history to keep things honest, but if he wasn't looking at the challenge tracker daily, it may have stayed up for a while. I haven't been paying really close attention to mine.
I've done 100k in a day before and wasn't too motivated to do it again the next day.

Typically I am not more than 50k/week (37k average this season) on the rower, but today I crossed the 200k mark for the challenge. Last weeks I was able to ramp up the meters a bit.
No issues found during the logging.
