Re: 2k
If you are part of a training program talk to your coach/trainer. He'll be delighted to hear your commitment to extra training. Erging outside the normal training plan could be counterproductive, as you need your resting periods for recovery as well. So a lot depends on what your current training involves and what your current challenges are (technique, power or endurance). There is no easy excersise to get better, but carefully adding the right trainingsessions that complement your current training without hurting your recovery is essential.

Presuming you are male, to race at 30-35 and 300W (which is close to 7:00 2k), you'll need to start training at 20-24 and 200W (which is 2:00 pace), probably in short intervals:

Do most of your "extra" work that you're doing before and after practice at low intensity - like a pace where you could have a conversation with someone next to you. Limit your hard/high intensity work to what you're doing in practice.wantlessthan7 wrote: ↑March 5th, 2022, 9:14 pmIm a freshman varsity rower i weigh 152 and im 5'10 my 2ks at a 7:26 right now and im trying my best to get it under 7 ive been erging a lot even before and after practice but idk if anything that i do is working anyone have any workouts that could get me under 7 quicker?
Also make sure you're eating enough. Since you're 152 and you're only a freshman you're probably not done growing. Fuel that.
