Yeah, the dogs....
Anyway, rowing a dynamic requires really good technique, which it appears you are getting mostly correct. The stroke can be longer and stronger, but you have the basics down.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Yeah, wow - the dynamic does look harder. I reckon that you're opening your hips up too early (so bringing your back into play too quickly) and also there's a definite up and down motion with your hands that looks unnecessary and unhelpful - think about "feeding" the chain back into the sprocket instead.

Can’t remember if it was W. C. Fields who said: “Never work with dogs or kids.” Guess Andy Griffith got away with it but generally good advice for actors and telegenic ergers! Those dogs are naturals at upstaging and fotobombing, particularly the sesame Shiba. Is the smaller merled spitz dog also shiba inu?
About your form: The arms only at backstops is impressive on the Dynamic? Ever try an Oartec DX?

Almost certainly showing my ignorance here but....where's the fan cage? Is this the new streamlined Model F??

No tarring all dogs with the same brush!! My flatcoat retriever has learnt the difference between the main part of my ergo sessions and my cooldown. He knows to leave me alone on the main part (because that's important) but thinks it fair game to come over to me when I'm on my cooldown. He likes to lick the sweat off of me. Yes, I know that's gross.jackarabit wrote: ↑January 11th, 2020, 12:22 amCan’t remember if it was W. C. Re: Hello i'm new here. Need opinion please
It's a Dynamic type, i.e. not anchored to the ground. Like a boat, which goes back and forth when we go forth and back. The fan's underneath.
There's a lot less work in sliding than on a fixed erg, so it's tempting to row at high ratings. Even 60, not that it lasts long. Better results are possible if we can get the work saved into the handle.
The OP seems to know perfectly well how rowing is done.

the fan cage is located at the rear of the rower on the lower left side.
