Ideal force curve for long steady pieces?

Post by zen cohen » November 7th, 2018, 8:23 pm

I've seen many lots of comments about ideal force curve for sprints and shorter intense pieces but nothing about long steady pieces. Should it be different? My force curves for these are pretty smooth but more gradual than the ones I've seen as ideal for pieces requiring more explosive strokes.

Thanks for any comments!

The curve should be a smooth arc. The height of the peak (or the area under the curve) depends on how hard your effort is. However, the shape shouldn't be any different for hard or easier, steady efforts. Here is the C2 web page on it: https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/ ... orce-curve.
Mark Underwood. Rower first, cyclist too.

Thanks, Cyclist2, I appreciate it. BTW, I accidentally posted this in Weight Loss. Meant to post in Training.
