I'm primarily a cyclist, but I’ve always suffered from a literal pain in the a%^ from the stock Concept2 seat when I begin my winter training off the bike. Over time my posterior toughens up, however my the first workouts of the off-season can be really painful. Recently I tried a seat that uses cut out technology similar to what’s found on bike saddles and I’ve noticed a huge improvement in comfort. I highly recommend it.

The discomfort of the standard C2 seat apparently depends on the shape one's rear. For me, I never got used to the standard seat. The sores around the tailbone were quite painful. The key is the cutout. But one does not need to buy a $150 seat to get results. Simply cut a piece of dense foam that is about 1.5" the shape of the existing seat and provide a generous U-shaped cutout in the rear. Problem solved for a few dollars.

The problem I experienced was not with the tailbone but rather with the sit bones. I tried a foam pad with two cut-outs but the EndureRow seat is far superior in my opinion.Cyclingman1 wrote:The discomfort of the standard C2 seat apparently depends on the shape one's rear.
