Hugh Jackman 5k Test
Here is some good news for a lot of us - Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine posted a picture of a 5km row.. 19:45! TBH I would have expected something a bit quicker from a guy so well conditioned and built..
I imagine he would nail a 500m sprint though..

Re: Hugh Jackman 5k Test
Interesting. TBF I would imagine he's not a habitual erger and as we all know improvement comes rapidly at the beginning. That said, just goes to show having alot of muscle and being ripped is waaaaay different to being aerobically fit.

Re: Hugh Jackman 5k Test
Being his age, only a lot more handsome
, I do find this very modest.
Does show that his training is aimed at strenght/looks, and less at fitness.

Re: Hugh Jackman 5k Test
The split time for the final stroke is a bit of Hollywood misdirection. The guy's a 2'/200Watter. It's nice that he can almost keep up with Anthony on the rower. Probably better on the pec deck.

Re: Hugh Jackman 5k Test
Was this even really a test he done? It was probably just a regular workout like what i do.
My 5k PB was not even achieved by testing, it was just a regular workout @ 22r lol.
He could be sub 19 for 5k in reality if he wanted to, for all we really know.

Re: Hugh Jackman 5k Test
Do you usually take a few strokes at 28 per minute near the end of your nice flat, steady, 22spm deisel bus effort, Anthony? Obviously Jackman is a respectable journeyman on the rower but for all we know from the screen foto, he could have clawed his way to that result while bleeding out the eye sockets. ![Crying or Very sad ](./images/smilies/icon_cry.gif)

Hugh is just an average Aussie "bloke" really - most adult males here are sub20' for 5km (and genetically blessed like Hugh)Anth_F wrote:Just can't envisage Jackman needing to struggle through anything tbh

Lindsay sez:
Jackman was pretty good as Les in Les Miserables; heard he cut his nails for the role.![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Brings to mind Garrison Keilor's Lake Wobegon, where all the men were good looking, all the women strong, and all the children above average. Where did I put my gum boots?

Have to go with you on that one, my 5K season PB was a "Warm Up" for the 30 minute that stated an hour later.Anth_F wrote:Was this even really a test he done? It was probably just a regular workout like what i do.

1:54.8 at 19spm and heartrate only 159 average.
Probably the reason I flicked Concept 2 an e-mail the other day to add the magnifying glass to the right hand side of the rankings so it links to all your data for the row, its adds perspective to the "PB". Sometimes you just rank your best row of the season and not a PB effort from the start. Pretty much everything ranked this season are training rows that I cheated on and rated up a couple of strokes higher !

Pb stands for PERSONAL BEST not being scared of really testing yourself and limiting yourself so you don,t have to find out the truthCarl Watts wrote:Have to go with you on that one, my 5K season PB was a "Warm Up" for the 30 minute that stated an hour later.Anth_F wrote:Was this even really a test he done?
