So, got 400m- effort was close to max- unhappy as I was "short stroking" it a bit more than I would have liked in comparison to my 35 spm effort- need some more practice at 40 spm
This was done at 5500 ft altitude
Also did 2 weeks of zero carb, followed by last 10 days in 20-50 gm range
This was 2nd workout of the day and had about 30 gm carb total today
DF was 225 ish
And again NO DRUGS or Hormones!!!
Likely go again tomorrow!

Well done, solid effort.
Form was still pretty decent, all things considered.

Thanks guys- hopefully can squeeze out a bit more by tightening up technique at this rate and maybe give the WR a go (need 5 more meters)

Excellent job. Since you didn't ask for constructive criticism on technique I'll give it anyway. It looks like you might be starting the back swing a little early. Consider delaying that for a fraction of a second and let your legs work longer. Obviously your back is strong enough to withstand the force of starting the swing while the legs are still pushing but that could cause injury or cost you few meters. It's very hard to make changes to your stroke at high rates and for short sprints. At the end when you are getting tired you are lifting the handle over your knees but I don't see how that is really hurting your effort. Only 5 more meters!

Paul thanks! Unfortunately I don't think anyone ever looks "good" technique wise on this sort of stuff- look at pretty much every single top 500 m effort and you'll see a lot of ugly rowing IMO- I am actually a lot longer than most here- as most guys tend to do an arms and back only thing with half slide stuff- Xeno and I used to constantly argue about me bringing in my back too early and while I can certainly sequence it more "correctly" it never, not even once resulted in a better sustained split for me. My biggest complaint for this row was that my stroke length got slowly, bit by bit shorter as the row progressed- should be able to stay long the whole way and perhaps drop the stroke rate just a bit and still maintain power- at 40+ Spm we don't have a lot of time to recover
