Ordered my C2 on Friday. So ready!

Post by CardiacNP » July 7th, 2013, 10:14 am

I just ordered my Concept2 D with PM4 on Friday....I am hoping it gets here in Louisiana sometimes next week!!!

Male 44 Years old, lost almost 100 lbs , but put about 40 back on over the last year or so. Looking to get back to health and fitness with rowing being a big part of my physical activity!!!

I have a few knee issues but i have done 6 half marathons over the last 3 years. I am slow but i finish. I am looking to focus on rowing for cardio, full body work out and strength gain. I will also supplement with Oly. lifts and eventually work more crossfit activities into my routine after i get some endurance back and drop a few pounds.

I plan on starting with the beginner workouts on the C2 site and the beginner plan from Pete.

I am following a higher protein/less processed carb diet to aid in my weight loss

Any other suggestions and advice welcomed

Amen my friend! I've had the D PM4 since November and I love having an erg a roll out of bed away!

Check out this page to get started: http://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/training.

I too am erging for weight loss. Unfortunately, losing weight and keeping it off are a full-time job and not a destination, so find a workout routine you can sustain for the rest of your life.

Make sure you keep a Concept2 logbook and check out the rankings. The rankings keep me motivated. I also love the feeling right after an intense 5 or 6k.

Read the Maintenance section of the instructions that come with the erg to keep your machine in good shape for a long time.

Erg on!!
Mid-30s, 6'0", 230lbs (working on that.......), 6:54.8 2k PB (1:43.7, March 2015). Occasional OTW rower.
Don't believe everything you read on the internet!
Other PBs: 1k @ 1:39.9 (March 2015).

My simple advice.

Set specific and measurable goals and track progress towards them. My main motivation is competitive, so tracking times on the online logbook is important to me. If weight loss is your thing, then tracking that might be the way to go.
