Tips on getting sub-7:00 minutes

So.
I am a 14 year old rower (freshman in high school), almost 15. I weigh 148lbs. and i'm 6 foot 3.
My PR on a 2k erg test is 7:16. I am currently racing in the spring season, and I REALLY want to be sub-7 by the beginning of the fall season next year (i'm shooting for varsity).
I am a novice, it is my first year rowing (ever!). I started in the fall of 2012, and my first 2k was a 7:47. My coach has us taking one 2k erg test a month, and my last 2k I got a 7:17. Any tips on getting my 2k below that 7:00 minute wall? How long do you anticipate I will have to train before I get my 2k sub 7? Is my goal realistic? What are some of the mental/physical preparations you guys undergo in the days leading up to a 2k? What kind of strategy/mindset do you guys take in order to "smash it" on the erg?
Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Tip number 1 eat well, at your age you will grow a lot, good food is needed. Sub 7 would be doable don,t worry

Nice height to form a good base from which to develop from and you can expect to get taller.

Your still pretty young and need to develop muscle mass and power. There is a risk of overdoing it at your age to try and reach certain goals but I would focus on good food and steady progress and not be impatient and you will get there like hjs has said.
