Slide Problem

Post by MLoca » May 26th, 2011, 3:30 pm

Hi,
I am new to the forums and I was hoping someone could help me out. I have been rowing for three years and have always had a strange problem on the erg, whenever I erg the front of the seat hits the heel of my foot. I have tried messing with the foot stretchers but nothing seems to work. Everyone I have asked, my coaches included, have said it is probably caused by my height, I am 5' 3''. I was wondering if anyone here had any advise for me.

How far back on the seat do you sit? That could possibly be the problem.

This is usually a result of sitting up straight and sliding the seat underneath when approaching front stops.

Make sure you are rocking forwards enough and staying rocked forwards, make sure you rock the pelvis rather than just curving your back.

And/or try keeping your heels down.
