Very nice Max, you got used to the skierg pretty fast, and there's a good bit left for a proper TT in February, good luck for that!

Nice one, you will improve rapidly if you haven’t done much longer work. I do like the on/off format, gives a short term goal. I use larger differences between on/off though. More 10 seconds.
For a full 5k, you better aim for a much flatter pace. Think you are good for a 2.03/4

Whoop whoop...great stuff Max
I've only done one 5k Ski and it was nowhere near this. Sadly we're not gym members now so no skiing for me. But I am keen to try roller skiing outside at some point when restrictions lift.

Nice one Max. That last 1k shows you're better than you expected
Thanks all,

Time to obliterate some low hanging fruit with a 6k today. Previous 6k was on December 21st:
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
26:11.5 6,000m 2:10.9 156 836 21 154
First goal today was to beat 2:03.4 pace, which I did 2 weeks ago on a 5k TT
Second goal was to go for a 24:30.
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
24:20.8 6,000m 2:01.7 194 967 24 158
6:15.0 1,500m 2:05.0 179 916 24 142
6:10.5 3,000m 2:03.5 186 939 24 151
6:04.0 4,500m 2:01.3 196 974 24 163
5:51.4 6,000m 1:57.1 218 1049 25 176
Happy with the outcome, and it moved me from the 25th to the 50th % in the rankings
Nice Lou, with negative splits like that, you’ll be sub 24 in no time at all!

Giveaway you are not going at 100%. I have the same, but find it still just as tough.

I just got my 500m PB, but I don't know what it is: according to the log book, I took 1:31.2, but my pace was 1:31.1!
I assume that the time is more accurate than the pace, but I am intrigued as to why there's a difference. Any ideas?

Rounding. From observation I'd say pace rounds down, total time up. Happens too often to not be programmed in.

Congrats on the PB...now have to try and get under 1:30
The time is the "official" score, you do see the .1 difference at times on the shorter TTs due to how it rounds.

Tomorrow is my one year rowing anniversary. I have gone from 680m at 3:35/500 to 85th percentile. It doesn't compete with most people posting here but not too bad for a fatish, oldish guy.

That is superb progress, and a massive effort to go sub 2:00, by a long way too. Judging by the last half you're still capable of going faster, and it's your confidence that is holding you back. I really think that you can go sub 38 minutes without any notable issues

That’s great progress and a good time. I couldn’t go that quick over 10k as a younger (otherwise) fit guy. It takes effort and perseverance and as you have those your times will continue to fall.

You did not do a warm up? Don’t think you mind a lot, but this is certainly not a full 100% result. You started way to easy.
Well done with the overall improvements, shows what can be done. From close to almost nothing to very respectable

Good row Castu, definitely not 100% with a big negative split like that. Bodes well for the future!
