No real pace changes - it was more mental work. And I found a new type of pain never experienced before  My insides hurt on this one.
Wow, that really is a great effort. Congrats!

Good work! Especially on that 60 minute piece. If you started concentrating on power you'll drop that 2k in no time. Seems like you're a lot better at the longer distances right now.

Congrats! A very respectable time!

I set a PR in the 10k yesterday, 39:20 @ 1:58 even. It was in a 40' piece, and a 40' piece that I wasn't even TRYING in. Very happy with that. Today I went out for a light 15k with one of our coaches (he graduated last year so there's still some competitive drive in him), did mine in 1:00:43.5, which is about 3' faster than my last PR and still nowhere near what I could do strapped in.

Thanks guys. I'll cherish that medal, it's my first and could well be my last in rowing! :D It was a pleasant spring day and a pleasant event. Thanks to Nav Haz for drawing my attention to this race, taking the picture  and giving me a ride back to Manhattan. His leisurely (23spm+a short sprint) 6:39 was good for a medal of his own to go with his hammers and ice scrapers .

Paul, bama, nice work.

Bah, nothing really to brag about. Actually I had the idea to try a new 5k PB, but after the warming up, I didn't feel like pulling a full 5k, thus I scaled it down a bit and went for a new 4min PB
Even achieved a new PB, however, didn't manage to get these 1200... for the moment I'll have to settle for 1190m

Lesson of the day: Don't try to do PBs after having stuffed yourself with ample amounts of tasty snacks at a company jubilee event

There was a little indoor race day here in Durham today. Entered the 2K, 1K, and 500m. PR'd in the 2K (6:52) and 1K (could have sworn it was 3:12 but when I checked to official record later on, they had 3:13.6 both of which are PRs, so I'm cool with it).

My 500m heat was literally 20 minutes after the 1K and I completely melted down the last 250. No fireworks there, it turns out. Actually barely rowed faster than my 500 splits I rowed the 1K in.
