Nice 1min PB 👏💪👍.

Tempted to give mine a go again too as my 500 PB is only slightly slower now.

It's not much but I'm now about 1.5 months into rowing and I finally cracked 2:10 and on what is also only the second time I've rowed this long of a distance. Following the beginner pete plan and just finished week 7

I disagree, you've broken a milestone by going sub 2:10 and your rowing further than usual, so that is something to be proud of. Progress is all you can ever hope for, and you're still very much in the early stages

Wow, awesome power right there Keith :o And as Martin mentioned, going for near max pressure for a whole minute, that is something! I guess there was some lactic acid involved during the last seconds? :D 376 is absolutely massive!

This IS technically a PR. so I guess this is a fair place to share it. I have mixed feelings though.

Erged 5x 1500 this morning (5 minutes active rest between each). Aim was to start at approx 5k pace (1:39) then see how low I could drop. In the back of my mind I was hoping to flirt with 1:30 for my last 1500.

That didn't happen.

Went out sub 1:30 for the first 500, but I backed off at that point. Half of me is disappointed that I didn't push harder, half of me is happy that I made the "smart" move to not absolutely sell my soul. Ended up finishing my last interval in 4:36.2, for a 1:32.0 split.

The more I really think about it, the more I agree with you Jo Andre. This last rep is exceptionally good, and the previous reps are at notably lower SPMs so they have to considered appropriately.

I suppose I can weakly claim a 2k PB off the 10min intervals I did Tues, since I've never done a 2k test and the 7:18-ish split would therefore qualify as my PB. Weak, weak claim.

I'll confess that I hate testing -- I've done too many indoor 5min, 8min, and 30min tests over the years on the bike, and I gave up on those a few years ago -- and I only did two tests outdoors in 2020.

So, it's time to buck up. I'll put it here to make myself accountable. Barring a cold or whatnot, I'll test 5k the last week of December, and then 2k the last week of Jan, and the last week of Feb. Then shift over to the bike as the emphasis for the spring and summer.

Easy to write. Now I actually have to do the things.

I start the 1 Minute with going as fast as I can and I didn't see any really low pulls, I think one at 1:17, which is slower than I used to do but.......I was able to sit on 1:18/1:19 pretty much the whole time with some fade towards the end. I felt like I pretty much did close to an all out sprint the whole time. Surprisingly my SPM was lower than past PB and about the same as my 500 PB - I almost think it was wrong as my last strokes I saw the SPM 10+ higher than the final average. Anyway, I feel like this result was based more on fitness than power. Thanks, I think my proudest accomplishment in rowing is that I have decent scores from short to long. Might get better scores with focus on just one area but like doing it all.
