Okay, here you go.Chad Williams wrote:I have had to move it to butt up against a wall to stop it sliding across the floor.PaulS wrote:Ah, so it's not really traveling along the floor? A couple of strategically placed 20kg weight plates should stop the lift.
Put a couple of weight plates on the floor, touching the wall, and butt the erg feet up against those plates. This will keep you from advancing toward the wall. (I use a single piece of 2x2 in line with the Erg Rail to accomplish this at home)
Now take a couple more weight plates and set them so that they hold the feet down on either side, it shouldn't take too much to stop the lifting. Anyway, think of it this way. Even if the erg doesn't lift, unless you solve the problem internally, you are still doing the "wastefull" action it is just being masked through the application of other forces. (Much like the Slides can add nothing to your strength, but can mask the consequences of a rushed recovery.)
Bob,
The only thing that raising the footboards does is shorten the compression and reach, or cause us to get into very weak biomechanical positions to get full reach. I've never found that having the heels lower is a hinderance to applying high force to the handle, though it does take considerable core strength to maintain connection and translate the force horizontally.
