Your FM training will really help you with this target and assuming you're not too feeling too destroyed next week I'd pencil it in for Thursday or Friday to start knocking chunks off your PB.winniewinser wrote: ↑June 24th, 2020, 4:54 amSub 18 is good going and a target that I'd like to get after sometime......congrats Phil!![]()

Hopefully the FM won't destroy me too much. It's been nice to have a target to aim for during the blue zone plodding.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Decided on having a crack at my 10,000 pb. Thought id be brave and set out to aim to go sub 36 and failing that, if i can hold on i should end up getting a PB regardless. No quitting!
Considered a negative split approach but then decided against thought. I thought i'd set out hot for 2km, get a buffer and then feed off that.
Didnt warm up, just hopped on and went for it. Focused on my breathing pattern and all went to plan. Didnt put the HR monitor on as i didnt want my central governor kicking in and putting me off.

Very good result mate, and I'm very envious as this distance is my Achilles heel. Do you think you can squeeze more out? In response to your question Stu - i absolutely think I can squeeze more out. I could probably rate a little higher in the middle part and perhaps go harder at the end. I felt completely fine a few minutes after. The recent interval sessions ive found to be far far far more taxing and they leave me for dead for 24 hours. This on the other hand felt quite energising.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
With many doing the BRVC I thought it was a good opportunity to have a go at this distance. Plan was 5 fast pulls to start and then settle into 1.39’s for the remainder with a push at the end. All went to plan and perhaps if i had projected time on the monitor I might have pushed a bit harder to go sub 6.30. I decided to not display it as i did want to get carried away too early. But might change that for next time

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
6:42 to 6:31 in such a short space of time is fantastic work Ian!.....definately sub 6:30 next timeiangallagher wrote: ↑June 27th, 2020, 12:40 amWith many doing the BRVC I thought it was a good opportunity to have a go at this distance.
