Puzzled ? eh why, he always rows plus 7 in his first race.
He will tell you that he once erged a 6:42 at BIRC..... :|

... so: not "always"... but that time was before he adopted RWB as a training method. Or, more properly: Posting with breaks... the breaks being UT2 :D

PWB, as explained by the nutty prof. clearly does not give anyone consistent results.
It just leads to TWB.. (trolling with breaks).

ranger wrote:... The best thing for BIRC 2010, I think, is to rate 31 spm, which is 10 MPS/1:37, for the first 1700m.

... Great session this morning working with 26 spm, 34 spm, and 42 spm ... 1:42, 1:34, 1:27
So can someone translate what "working with" really means? When the details come out I'm not sure there will be a 1:37 stoke in the whole piece! From the early BIRC results is seems it could mean ...

a) occassionally pulling really hard and seeing this pace on the display for one stroke

b) dicking around on the erg and thinking I could do this

c) pulling a stroke like this and then rowing slow for a while to recover

For me this sums up the kind of person Ranger truly is. That's behaviour originating from the gutter as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully he'll crawl back there and stay put...
So let's congratulate the deserving ones and move on..

The disrespect he shows this sport by not showing up at the award is what is the worst thing in my mind. He had a great showing with the bronze. I know it was nothing compared with his talk but not showing up at the award is simply inexcusable which shows a total disrespect for the sport and the people who work so hard.

Can see that I missed much in my absence from this...

rangerboy, you really blew it this time. If you weren't such an ass I'd congratulate you on the bronze and commiserate on what might've been, while noting the stellar results of others.

But, alas, you are, undeniably, the terminus of the human gastrointestinal tract, so no congratulations or commiserations are in order.

Except for a huge shout out to Jon Bone, who

a) delivered a stellar performance;

b) honors his competitors by showing up on the awards stand; and

c) is a credit to our sport.

Congratulations, Nav! That's an incredible performance!

On his exit from the building it was said that Ranger was singing........

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and ev'ry highway;
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
"No, oh no not me,
I did it my way".

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

Well, there's the explanation for your fine performance. Weight doesn't matter, right? Looks like another of your records was put permanently where it belongs, too :lol: Perhaps your teaching job isn't the only endeavor from which you should retire!

This is not new. He has been contemptuous of others' achievements for years. He's not some entertaining oddball. He's a profoundly off-balance man who falsely props himself up and is relentlessly mean-spirited about others.

The 7+ minute showing is entirely predictable. Start too fast because he's nuts. He's been a premature ejaculator for years.

I've said this before, but I am still wondering. Why should a guy who is only 5'11"' and has such skinny legs have trouble making weight? If he had a weight-lifter's build, I could understand, but in his pictures, he doesn't have that kind of arm and shoulder development.

I really hate to see an individual perform way below their potential. While ranger doesn't really share his training details, from what I can tell he is actually training for rope skipping, stepping, and biking ... and performing what amounts to technique drills on the erg ... all while managing crash diets on little sleep.

Ranger - there is 0 evidence that your current training practices are beneficial in any way. Why not come off it, follow a more traditional plan, and show us all what you can really do?
