Did my first 2K test in 18 months yesterday and was pleased to cut 9 seconds of my PB.

I think this is close to the limit for me right now considering my relatively limited volume (around 20k a week). Gives me confidence for improving my 1k and 500m times :D

Wow congrats! That's a very very good time! I think if you work more on the aerobic fitness you can still a good bit faster. Your longer distance PB's seem very poor compared to your 2k and below.

I've always been very poor in terms of aerobic fitness, I also struggle mentally with anything over 2k!

My focus right now is strength training, so I don't think I'll be getting any distance PBs anytime soon.

Wow, great effort John, 6:30 is a huge milestone!
You'll crush your 1k score, definitely sub3. I saw you equalled your 100m PB at the end of last season (and put me one place back in the ranking :) ), can't wait to see your 1' and 500m TTs!

Thanks mate! Haha, yeah I thought I would try a couple of 100m to see where I was at, was happy with that result. A couple of small adjustments and I'll hopefully be able to take a couple of tenths of that.

Seriously quick, nice job.
Did you rate higher than previously, or is it a stronger stroke (I know you have some serious numbers in the gym)?

Thanks mate, 1k is one of the few ranked distances I think I can beat this year, I only really tested it once since I got my rower about 3 years ago now.

I tried and failed to beat my 5k and 30min PBs a couple of weeks ago, I just don't have the fitness of you cardio monsters

Thanks! I rated 33 when I got my last PB. So stroke is definitely stronger.

With strength like that it is logical you havent got the fitness of us cardio monsters. If you did you'd be in the olympics! 1:03 is a serious LP, that's close to what what world class athletes like Phill Clapp are pulling. And 13.6 on a 100m!. Damn..... I just pulled as hard as I can on a 20x100m interval and my fastest was 15.3 with a rolling start!

60' TT PB +310m 😁😁😁

I had planned a HM but the 60' seemed more sensible... definitely the right choice for today. Many opportunities to HD as doubts bounced around my head 😖 but I kept it going and even managed a little sprint finish 🥵. Netflix Ozark for company.

Wow, I have to say that's amazing since it matches my PB :D

But seriously, that's a great score for not doing in a long time.

Still..

Don,t sell yourself short. 1.03 is elite level, never seen a screen below 1.01...

You really should easily get below 3, and 2.50 would ofcourse take training. But for a 1.03 max pace still no super fast.
