Good Day,
Smashed my 5k. Was going to try for sub 18:30, blew it out of the water.
18:07.1 or 1:48.7

Really wondering what a 2k test would result in. Maybe next week.

Hope you are all well.

Sorry Keith, you stirred up my competitive side and I had to chase you down.

I almost didn't do it all as my gastric emptying wasn't optimal so my breathing was a bit of a struggle and my HR was elevated from early on. I'm slightly optimistic that I could go under 2:45 on a better day but I'm very happy with this result.

I think I need to rethink my max HR as this was 98% at the end and it was horrible, but not about to burst type of horrible.

FWIW, the first 5k was 1:58.0 at r23

Congratulations here too Stu, I am realizing more and more how big of a distance the FM actually is, so nothing but respect from my side to your achievement  :D

Nice one, Stu. Congratulations. I'm not surprised TBH as you've been hitting top form of late. Agree with others - the OCD is a bit spooky! And as you predicted, you're already analysing and figuring out how you could be even faster.

That's a colossal improvement, well done. Good luck with the continuing work on the PP. I do read your updates even though I'm not PPing ATM. It's good to know there's a user base out there.

Thanks very much all. Tbh, I find the OCD is a great way of passing the time and distraction from the effort. It's easier than you think when you start really concentrating on it.

50k next Monday, and hopefully another PB. I think that was at 2:06 average so I'm hoping for a big chunk off that one too.

Despite my uncontrollable optimism, I have accepted that a 2k PB for the C2 Spring Series Challenge this week isn't going to happen, but I'll give it a good go

Nice one Stu great PB, the tough ones are always the best.

I can remember my HR at the end of my HM PB being 183 and max had just been tested at Sheffield Hallam Uni at 173.

Thanks Henry, I was really struggling at 6k, and it felt like I just couldn't apply any more power for a short time, so I was very glad to have a revival with 2k to go
